Mission of Pleasant Grove

The mission of Pleasant Grove Church is to love and lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. To this end, we intentionally seek to create environments where people (1) are encouraged and equipped to grow in their relationship with God; (2) connect to the community within the church; (3) reach those outside the church by regularly investing in their lives; and (4) share their time, talents, and treasure to glorify God for the sake of others.

Testimony of Member

"People seem to have many reasons for going to church. We all go to feel closer to God, and to learn the lessons of the Bible, and some days just to lay our burdens at the altar. But for me, the biggest blessing that God gives in His church is the people. I just love the people of this church. I'm sure everybody doesn't agree on every detail of how to interpret the Bible or what songs we sing, and we are bound to have differences in how we think the church should be run. But we all keep coming, for worship and for study and for social activities. This church doesn't let its natural differences get in the way of acting on the love of God. And because of that, I can feel the love of God every time I step through the doorway."

About Pleasant Grove Church

Pleasant Grove Church of Harvey, Kentucky is a vibrant, growing, multi-generational church with a Wesleyan Heritage. Located in a family-friendly community, we are evangelical in theology and contemporary in practice with a variety of ministries for all ages. We are passionate about our mission and equipping each member of our church family to fulfill his or her unique part of God’s mission. Our church has been in mission for over 160 years, and while our roots are Methodist, this past year we became an independent church. We are looking forward to building the foundation for our next 167 years of ministry.
